Wildcats top Voodoos 5-3

POWASSAN – Adam Baxter had a goal and two assists to help lead the Elliot Lake Wildcats to 5-3 decision over the Powassan Voodoos Saturday night in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action at the Powassan Sportsplex.

Baxter’s fifth of the season 82 seconds into the second stanza tied it in what would be the only goal scored in the session.

The Wildcats then struck twice in quick order early in the third thanks to Liam Blais and Hepler, who connected during a man advantage for a second time, to make it a 4-2 game.

Stavros Soilis pulled Powassan back to within one at 7:53, but Elliot Lake’s Nathan Campbell added some insurance three and a half minutes later to round out the scoring.
