Wildcats get Ice Cold for Charity

The Elliot Lake Wildcats were nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by our local MPP Mike Mantha last night (September 4th.)

Being the fierce competitors they are, the Wildcats accepted the nomination from Mantha and completed the Ice Bucket Challenge within the allotted 24 hours.

Players flipped a coin to decide who the unlucky 12 recipients of the cold water would be- delivered by their 12 winning teammates.

Despite completing the challenge within the 24 hour timeframe, the Wildcats will still be making a $100 donation to ALS Canada to show their support for the cause.

The Wildcats’ ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video can be seen on the Wildcats Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ElliotLakeWildcats

The Wildcats challenged their western division rivals- the Soo Thunderbirds and the Sudbury Nickel Barons. The Blind River Beavers were previously nominated alongside the Wildcats by Mantha.

We would like to thank all the staff and volunteers who came out to help with the Ice Bucket Challenge and a big thanks to the players who endured the ice cold water.
