Special Memorial to Take Place During Sunday, December 7th’s Game

The Elliot Lake Wildcats would like to take the opportunity to honour the memory of Deric Farquhar during our home game on Sunday, December 7th against the Cochrane Crunch.
The entire Elliot Lake Atom Minor Hockey Team will be in attendance at this game.    Each player of the Elliot Lake Atom Minor Hockey Team will be given a Deric Farquhar memorial flag while two boys will be holding our Wildcat flags. Like usual, the boys will skate around the ice waving the flags; however, these two laps will be specially dedicated to Deric. Nash Farquhar (Deric’s son) will be leading the way.      Both the Wildcats and the Atom team will line up on the blue line during the National Anthem. The boys will not only be facing the Canadian flag, but also the Deric Farquhar memorial flag. Our special guest singer for the night is still being determined.   At the end of the first period, the Atom boys will go back on the ice for a short, 5 minute 5 scrimmage.  Austin Brunet and Dean Bowles will be the officials for the scrimmage.   We would like to take a minute to thank everyone who has been involved in helping make this memorial take place, and would like to thank our community in advance for making it a special event.   -The Elliot Lake Wildcats Organization and Volunteers
