NOJHL announces venue changes, make-up dates

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced the following venue changes and make-up dates for a number of previously postponed and upcoming contests.

Due to the fact that Centennial Arena in Elliot Lake remains closed as crews work in removing snow and ice off the roof of the facility, the Elliot Lake Wildcats will play home games at the Blind River Community Centre until further notice.

This includes the postponed game from Friday, Feb. 22 between Elliot Lake and the Blind River Beavers, which will now be held on Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Blind River Community Centre. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

Of note, while this match-up is now being played in Blind River, the Wildcats will remain as the home team.

Also, Elliot Lake’s game Sunday, March 3 against the Soo Eagles will be played at the Blind River Community Centre as well and will get underway at 7 p.m. The Wildcats will also serve as the home side in that one as well.

Meanwhile the Soo Thunderbirds – Espanola Express contest that was called off on Sunday will now be held tomorrow evening, Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. at John Rhodes Community Centre.

The make-up dates for the two other NOJHL games that were postponed due to weather related issues over the past couple of days will be announced by the league once they are finalized.
